Sunsets By The Beachside

This song for me went through many different perspectives and exists as a bit more of a amalgamation all being directed at one “other.” This other person exists as a duet performer and co-written by Kennedy Guyton. The lyrics and the duet is made to show misunderstandings between people and how two people can misunderstand the perspective of the other and how that can drive them apart. At some point it can feel impossible to continue to communicate in a situation where misunderstandings are so high, this can eventually lead to growth and potentially a change in perspective.

Sunsets by the beachside
Where we’re hiding from the night life
Where I’m all in love with her eyes
And we’re all in for the summertime

When I see your face I feel bad
But I’m just not sad
Over what I’ve had
Or for what I’ve said

But I’ll still say that I was wrong
I’m sorry I took it too far
I should’ve just worked on our song
Instead of showing love to your heart

Will I ever find someone
Alone, party for one
Looking at the waves
And how life has just begun
I’m pushing out the wrongs
Trying to find where I belong
In another world where we all
Know the theme song

Sunsets by the beachside
Where we’re hiding from the night life
Where I’m all in love with her eyes
And we’re all in for the summertime

When I see your face I feel bad
But I’m just not sad
Over what I’ve had
Or for what I’ve said

I’m so lucky I found someone new
A lovely soul who always comes through
A lady so beautiful and true
We communicate how one’s can be two

Will I ever find someone
Alone, party for one
Looking at the waves
And how life has just begun
But when I’m feeling bored
Of laying on the floor
When I’m craving a dream to explore
I should look on the inside
The parts of me that come alive
Wanna dream, don’t wanna die
Put my pain in the sky
Kind of like my natural high
And for the first time
I no longer think that

Sunsets by the beachside
They’re the best place we could feel alive
Where the daylight turns to nighttime
But you won’t stand there out by my side

This is all a game
What am I say
What is there to play
When it’s all the same
Every single day
Like the crashing waves
The tides will always change

No one will ever love you
And your thoughts they keep you running
Away from anybody
That might just want to call you their friend
It comes in waves
What to say

But when I lost my words
To carry on our conversation
I only felt in love
So when she left and went on vacation
I only wanted her back
To hug her close and hold her hand
But the only thing I could do
Was hum myself this lonely tune

Will I ever find someone
Alone, party for one
Looking at the waves
And how life has just begun
I’m pushing out the wrongs
Trying to find where I belong
In another world where we all
Know
Know
Know
Know

Ay yo baby girl you know I wanna have you for Christmas
Girl come live it up
Shoot me a phone call
Yeah
